Shure IEMs with the new olive foamies work extremely well for noise isolation, especially in noisy environements.
Which earphones for blocking out noise?

The best sound blocking will come from using the foam tips. Shures are excellent in this regards. The Sennheiser CX300s are not. I'm not familiar with the Crossroads mentioned.
