I am getting

Benchmark DAC1

for my computer to be paired with two of these:

Event Studio Precision 8 Active Monitors

I was wondering what cable I would need to run from the DAC to these monitors? I want a high quality solution, would this work?

Two Mogami Gold AES 6 feet long

also: What's better, to have these monitors on stands that make it so they are right at my ear level, or get shorter stands so the monitors are below my shoulder level? This is sitting down.

Ear level not shoulder level. The common position is tweeter at ear level.
But considering the honesty of the pro equipment you'll be using, I wonder if you should maybe have the speakers a little higher so that the mid/bass driver is level with your ears.

I'm not sure that's the best cable to use. For one thing you're already spending $1,500, surely a $35 cable can be bettered. I'd shoot for a $100 balanced XLR interconnect of warmish tendencies.
