What amp?
I still miss my Sennheiser HD580s.  I completely refreshed them and have not used them since.  I found they were useless directionally most likely because they were under powered on my setup:  PS3 optical to Astro Mixamp to HD580 .
 
I've been using my " Highly Modded ATH-AD700 " for while now.

What amps should I consider?  I'd like to keep best bang for the buck if possible......  I strictly play FPS games.

I am still awaiting modmic 4.0 and wish there was an alternative that didn't pick up my mechanical keyboard......
Should I just wait, or is there a mic I should try?

I would think you could daisy chain a Schiit Magni headphone amplifier ($99) to the headphone output on the mix-amp.
Did you have a budget for a headphone amplifier?

I am getting some minimal buzz or something because the mixamp is USB powered, I am using a powered USB hub for it.  Is there a better way?
 
I can get a great deal, actually cheaper, on the Vali.  Is this not a good amp for my use?  I've been googling differences.....  so far not seeing a good answer in regards to FPS sound whoring.....

I still have not picked up an amp yet.  I am leaning towards the Sciit Magni now over the Fiio E12.
