I just got an iRiver 400 pcdp for xmas, it has a nice dedicated line-out, so I think it's hightime to start thinking seriously about an amp.

Any suggestions? I'm using the ER-4S right now. Porta Corda? SuperMac? Go-Vibe? Headsave Classic?

Under $200 would be ideal. Are portable amps really worth the cord hassle? Or would that money be better spent on MUSIC?????

With an imp-350 and ER-4S's myself, I'm pretty interested in opinions as well. My budget would likely be up to around $250, new or used.

I like the new Total Airhead with my iMP 400...it does a nice job taking the edge off the player and warming it up. Firms up the bass nicely too. That would be my suggestion.

The headsave classic with the imp-150 line-out sounds really good. Very dynamic and airy, good bass etc. But if you're gonna use it portable you'd have to go with batterypower and I don't know what the plusses and minusses are going to be.
