I've read loads of reviews on several sites and it seems that for every positive review there is a bad one, so it's obvious that I will have to test them myself. So I've now got my shortlist of closed headphones to try out but where can I go to test them in the UK (North West). There's a Hi-Fi show on in Manchester next weekend and I'll be there hoping to try out a few but as far as I'm aware only Sennheiser will have a stand. So if anyone knows of a retailer in the UK who has a decent selection on demo - I'd like to know.

Shortlist in no particular order:

Beyer DT770 Pro/Premium
Audio Technica ATH A900
AKG K271 Studio
Senn HD280 Pro

Any others I shouls have on this list???

Head Room has a 30 day return policy...you just have to pay for the shipping.

Otherwise, good luck. So far I've only been able to find a retailer that carries Grados. Most other places by me (Detroit, USA) just don't carry high end headphones. Not to many brick and mortar stores don't carry them, as there isn't a huge market for them.
