Hello all,

I just signed up and need some advice. Back in the 70s before I was born, my dad sunk his money into things like his JVC VR-5660. It was top of the line back then as well as the JVC speakers he bought ($800 a piece). Growing up, we used this receiver and speakers on a regular basis (and turn table as well). Now that I've grown up and now have my own family, it was passed down to me and I use it on a daily basis. I even use his KOSS Pro/4AAA headphones that KOSS repaired themselves for $9 haha!

My question to all of you is: given how much this receiver means to no only myself, but my family as well, where would you send it to be cleaned/repaired? The chronotuner digital numbers are very dim and don't read anything other than "1000". The headphone port has a static sound coming over it that's annoying when using any headphones.

I know it'll end up costing me, but if it's restored to like new condition, it's worth it to me. Thanks for any imput!
