I know this isn't particularly relevant to audio, but I figured that this would be the best place to ask

I've searched high and low for the name for these jacks, and for the life of me I can't find what they're called and where to get them. What I am trying to do is remove the attached cable from my portable hard drive enclosure, and replace it with the sort that is outfitted on the Playstation 2, with just a simple straight wire. Does anyone know where I can pick up the jack and cable for these?

I believe you're looking for the IEC 'low current' inlet, top left on this page:
Allied
Hope your external drive is presently being powered by a 2 wire (no safety ground) power cord as it's not a good idea to eliminate the ground connection - dangerous - can be lethal....

Thanks! That's exactly what I was looking for!

Yes, it's a two wire device, in fact, seems as though that is the japanese standard since I havn't seen anything that used three prongs (I'm in japan)
