After going to CANJAM yesterday and trying out all these headphones I realized that my 8 year old HD600 foam padding is beat up on both cups and the headband foam flat. I can't seem to find them anywhere on google. Anyone know where I can get them or know of any part numbers?

Scott.

Email Sennheiser USA through their website at sennheiserusa.com

They will most likely charge about $80.00 for the headband (they didn't charge for mine since I forwarded a copy of the gift receipt for warranty replacement). Sometimes they may just send you a new headband without charge since according to the person who sent my replacement band, these bands are the weakest link in already very good headphone (an unofficial statement at that). I am not complaining. I have already modified the destroyed headband by reinforcing it with a piece of spring-metal band with rubber cement over the metal part to keep it in place while I keep the replacement band in the box just in case my idea fails (it will sooner or later).

Hope this info helps

Take care.

I have no experience with the headband(i own hd 600 for 6 years now and the headband is ok)but did you know that sennheiser changed the earpads a few years ago?(they made them a little thinner/smaller)
These new earpads make a noticable change in the sound signature of the headphone. If you are interested to see what i mean, check "a question to all hd 600 owners"thread which i started a few days ago.
To my surprise i seem to be the only one here on headfi who found this problem with the new earpads. It's very strange because so many people own these cans(and hd 580/650 also which use the same pads).

I actually went to the Sennheiser USA page and found the online order area for parts. Since I'm a crafty shopper I googled the part numbers. BHphoto had it without tax and cheaper shipping.

Sennheiser 50635 Left and Right Pair foam$40.95
Sennheiser 52715 Headband foam $8.95

$4.95 3 day UPS shipping.

Your not alone - I replaced my five year old pair a couple of months ago with a new set - I just can't hack those new pads

my 580's are about 10 yrs old (or close). they only had light wear over those years, as I didn't wear the phones every day.

a few months ago I got some hd650 parts and built a new set up from parts. the new foam cushions were not THAT different from my old well-treated ones. just like broken-in vs new - but not all that diff other than that.

Yea Mines are bit abused ... for 9 years I think I used them everyday. Gaming, music listening, traveling, walking around outside ... I used them ... The foam is like falling apart and the element is exposed ... I stopped using them in January and didn't pull them out until CanJam this weekend.

That's what I noticed, too. I recently bought a second set of HD600's that were many years old, but barely used. I then bought a new headband and set of ear pads from BHphoto for my original HD600's that had flattened padding from wear. The new pads feel and sound the same as the ones on the second HD600 I got.

I have a new HD650 on the way, so I'll be able to compared the pads on those, too.

Well, to tell my side of the story, when I bought a pair of HD 600s off of somebody in the FS forums, I noticed that there were cracks in the headband. I emailed Sennheiser with all of the details, including that I had bought them second-hand off of Head-Fi, but the warranty was still valid, since the original owner got them recently.

They replied within 24 hours, and told me they would ship me a new headband free of charge. I just had to tell them my shipping address.

Indeed, although after I waited for a few days, I emailed them asking if they had shipped it out, and they told me (again, in 24 hours) that they were out of stock, and it would take them a few weeks to get the headband back in stock.
