you can use mareo and itunesencode to automate that process. still uses itunes, but calls it from a command line from eac.

America is not the world.

As far as I know iTunes is the only converter for ALAC. (I'm sure I'm wrong and someone will correct me).

I use EAC.
grab this: http://www.hydrogenaudio.org/forums/...howtopic=35242

then..

First, install iTunes. Gotta have iTunes.

To set it up in EAC, go to the Compression Options and set these:
-Use External Program for Compression is on
-User Defined Encoder
-Extension is .M4A
-Program is c:\full\path\to\iTunesEncode.exe
-Delete WAV after Compression is ON
-Add ID3 tag is OFF
-Check for external programs return code is ON
-Additional command line options are:

-e "AAC Encoder" -a "%a" -l "%g" -t "%t" -g "%m" -y %y -n %n -i %s -o %d -d

I'v e ripped y whole library at 320KBPS CBR AAC, excellent.
You can also drop WAV's into EAC and you can convert to AAC.

Yes. It is a Russian piracy site.

This is highly debatable. Every law student I've asked has vouched for its legality, claiming that the American laws only apply to the American record industry. Since the RIAA is nonexistent in terms of AllOfMP3, it makes the services they provide legal, since AllOfMP3 produces music from Russia's record industry. Russian law has nothing against AllOfMP3.

Try Lala.com for used CD's; they're a $1 plus shipping which is 75 cents I believe. Trade your CD's, or the ones you're not listening to and if you get a CD you're not privy to, ship it off to someone else.

Probably the single worst source of legal advice.

No, it isn't. Not a single cent goes to the artists. That is piracy. Talking about Russian law is like talking about the Nicaruguan Space Program, so its totally unfair to the creators of the music is to even consider it relevant. The semantics of legality are in question sure, but the actual effect of allofmp3 is absolutely no different.

For the record, I use torrent services and what not, but I surely don't pay for them. If you want the music in lossless, you have no reason to pay allofmp3 for it, its out there for free. Save the money you would have spent and use for band merch or concerts, something they will actually get paid for.
