Long story short, I broke the small tip on my Senn HD-595. This is annoying to say the least as it's now permanently stuck in the headphone jack of my laptop (don't ask).

Is there a local store I can find this at?

Tx in advance!

Stay away from the rat shack one, it almost shorted one of my amps.

Grado works for me. Senn also makes one.

second the grado adapter at www.headphone.com. The cool thing about is that it bends so there is less pressure on the jack. Feels like high quality also.

I personally don't like the grado cords and the adapter is made of th esame material. I would get a senn one, but both are good.

I've got the Grado and the Senn ones, and they're damn near identical. Take your pick. I'd say go with the Grado, since you don't have to deal with Sennheiser's online store.

You can get the senn one from their online part store and its cheaper than the grado one for about the same quality.

Quick and noobish question: What do you guys mean that one of the Grado or Senn adapter will put ''less strain or pressure on the jack''. For example if I use the adaptor that comes with the HD 595 or K 701 for a long time, could I damage the headphone jack? Why?

I have both grado and senn 1/4->1/8, they're pretty close, I prefer the senn because it's slightly more flexible and cheaper to boot.

Example of a bad type of adapter to use:
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...entPage=search

Example of a good adapter to use:
http://www.gradolabs.com/product_pages/mini_adap.htm

The bad one will put more stress on the jack due to excessive weight while the cable type will relieve that stress. Both the senn adapter and the grado adapter are calbe types.

Yes, I know that, I ordered my K 701s with a Grado adapter but my question is, Does using a cheap adaptor damages the jack or affects the SQ with the time?

You could always DIY one... Some nice neutrix connectors, possibly a 90 degree for the 1/8" side. 12" of canare star quad. Should be a little cheaper than the $20 grado one and the 90 degree bend would be easier on your small TRS jack.
