Where can I buy a stock HD650 cable? Sennheiser USA shows the same cable, product H-92885 or item 092885, used for 650s as for HD265, HD535, HD545, HD565, HD580 & HD600. And I'm assured the 650 cable is different.

Where can I buy one?

The HD600/650/580 use the same "socket" and thus the 650 cable would be compatible.

I don't know about the other headphones on the list, but from the picture on Sennheiser's website it looks like the HD265 does have the same socket as the 600/650/580.

Thanks jim. eBay $24.95

* New! Replacement cable. Original Sennheiser product in a sealed bag.
* This is a double sided 10ft (3m) cable with a straight 1/4 inch (6.3mm) stereo-plug in the end.
* The cable fit the models: HD650.

After the misinformation on the Sennheiser site, I wonder how to tell if this eBay cable not only fits the HD650, but is the actual stock cable made for the 650??

If it wasn't clear, the 650 cable might be different, but the sockets that receive the cable are identical to the HD600/HD580, and probably the others on the list which I am not familiar with. In other words, the Sennheiser site is perfectly accurate. The cable might not come with those models, but it certainly can be used with them.

A popular upgrade for the HD600 is to use the HD650 cable. No modification is necessary.

You can call Sennheiser directly, quite cheap that way. $11.47 or somethin like that, plus $5 shipping. Just call the 800 #, and go to parts. Part # 092885.

Yessir, it's indeed about $16 including shipping to US. I ordered one a few days ago, but it shows backordered. It showed to ship sometime this week, so their stock must just be getting refilled.

Just try and order from them, they will tell you if there is a wait or not before you buy.

Backorder I ordered two last week and got them on tuesday because my 580 cable died on me.

polkmaniac, I want to mod a stock cable to go balanced.

risetothetop, re calling Senn. directly, yes this 092885 is the same part # quoted on the website. My problem is that it shows this 092885 part # for multiple cans (incl. HD265, 535, 545, 565, 580, 600 & 650) whereas other people, incl. Chu above, are saying the 650 cable is different.
The web site, and that 092885 #, don't differentiate a 650 cable from 600 etc.
And the eBay one could be any of these. It fits 650, OK. But is it the OEM 650 cable?

I want to be sure I get the original OEM Senn 650 cable. But how?

The 650 cable is terminated with the 1/4" plug and has black plugs for the headphones, the 580 and 600 have the red and black plugs and is terminated with a mini plug with a special sennheiser deep socket adapter.

If the eBay photo is correct that looks like the HD650. The HD580/600 is terminated in a mini and then "shielded" in a 1/4" adapter. See below. Course they all fit each other.
