I was thinking of getting some K701 pads for the K601 I just purchased. Was wondering if there is a good US source to buy them from?

I wouldn't do it. I tried swapping pads between my K601 and K701 and neither fit on the other.

How recent was that? Everyone else has said they're interchangable for as long as I remember. It'll plain suck if mine come through (think they're still back ordered so I should be okay for the moment) and they don't fit.

I tried this earlier in the week. They just wouldn't lock into place.

I tried again today and managed to get them on, but it was hard. Perhaps a manufacturing error with the pads?

You need to push hard and turn. Make sure it is line up properly. Not super easy as sometimes not all the locks (3) are properly lock in place.
