I'm wondering because what will people do when stock pads will wear out?

See this post from JMoney Audio. He's now selling replacement pads for Denons that are genuine leather (unlike the pleather stock pads).

I just recieved dt880 pads from jmoney and they are well built and sound great so I know his new denon pads are probably also of the same craftmanship. He just released the denon pads yesterday and have already ordered mine. From all the modding post on denons most people agree that thicker pads make a big difference which his are. Its hearsay so take it for what it is worth. Ill know for sure in a couple of days though.

which pads sound best with denons, and is their any easy modding tricks to improve sound that anyones has tried? also what chords,, i have the 7000 and although i love them their stock chord sucks

you don't exactly need people to actually say that they are pleather. The moment you feel it, you should be able to tell.
