Breaking down my CD collection:
- approx. 80% acquired from online retailers, used
- approx. 10% acquired from online retailers, new (because of promotions)
- approx. 10% acquired from storefront retailers, i.e. Circuit City (because of store credit or promotions)
~90% of my online purchases are done from djangos.com, spun.com, and the Amazon.com Marketplace (user-to-user transactions).
PriceGrabber can be pretty effective when finding older CDs. I was able to get Projections - "Between Here And Now" for $1.00 shipped thanks to it. $1!
www.alldirect.com
is the best site i have been too.
great selection for metal(rare thing) and cheaper prices than most labels.....
i'm sure they have good selections for rock, classical, and jazz.\
cds there are by far the cheapest out there on the net..i'm never again buying anything at a brick and mortar store again.
I believe it doesnt cost anything to join at first, but you pay $6 a month automatically and they send you the next CD on your list. Then you pay $6 for every other CD you want to buy beyond the one per month.
