Howdy!

Looking for the best price (obviously) from a decent source (taking customer care etc. in consideration).

I'm looking to buy an Audiotrak Prodigy 7.1 in the uk, but can't find any on ebay (international) or froogle.co.uk...

Now i only have PCI, so i can't purchase ProdigyLT (as it's pci-x?)?

And in addition to that (before i purchase it), does the regular Prodigy 7.1 support qsound?

Thanks for the help!

Hi

The Prodigy 7.1 LT, providing broad compatibility, supports not only a standard/desktop PC, but also a slim PC and a bare-bone PC by providing an additional Low-Profile mounting bracket. PCI-X (3.3V) slots are also supported.

To me this means LT ic std PCI card.

Yeah. Don't confuse PCI-X (an extension to PCI, little used outside the server market, can be compatible with PCI) with PCI-E, aka PCI Express, the new PCI standard which is completely electrically and physically incompatible.

I just confused pci-e with pci-x...

Anywho, is there ANY place to get this card? i can't find it anywhere, not even internationally! It's outrageous!

And, should i get this now or should i wait for the new audiotrak coming out..?

Prodigy 7.1 is maybe too old model, and therefore maybe hard to find nowadays.

7.1 LT : (even this needs to Call for Availability)

BTW: Aren't Audiotrak with ESI now? This may be the reason why some of the Audiotrak models are hard to find!!

I don't know about European sales but here is the reply I got last week from Audiotrak about the Prodigy XT.

Dear Sir,

We will start preparation of English version in February or March.
Therefore, I guess, it will be available in US later than March.

So what's the best alternative to the prodigy?

I need it for my alessandro MS-1s (music and movies), my 2.1 system, and for gaming.

The prodigy was perfect for me, since it had good sound and a headphone amp, and q-sound for gaming etc. But i'm screwed now... Any recommendations?
