Well, you should really check out some of the Talema trannies from Digi-Key. You can get a 35VA toroidal for about $16. Toroidal are 'quieter' than other transformer types.

Does mount type matter?
Found PCB mount is cheapest.
so many transformer in digikey.
should i get the highest current available, if size and price is similar?
