Anyone know where I can buy/audition the Stax range of headphones? A series of auditions has led me to think that I do NOT like the tactile bass of the Sennheiser 650. It makes my ears fatigue way too fast.

I guess this means Stax electrostatics MAY be the way to go... hence the question.... also, it seems by the time one buys the amp and headphones, the Stax prices are about the same as, say a high end headphone amp and HD650s... any input would be helpful.

I think that Goodwin's in Boston carries them but I have no clue how far that is from you. My suggestion is to send an e-mail to info@yamasinc.com on Monday. They are the official distributor in the USA and they will be able to tell you who the dealer is in closest proximity. I checked their website and they said they needed to be contacted directly about dealers. If you were in SF I would invite you over to hear mine.
