I'm interested in auditioning the sr-009 but have no idea where to go.

Stax recently changed its distributor in the US, and it appears they have not set up a website yet, as far as I can determine. Elusive Disc in Indiana is a Stax dealer, but I don't know what they have for audition. Otherwise, probably the best thing to do is to look for a local or regional Head-Fi meet, where someone may bring an SR009 for audition. As you may know, the majority consensus opinion is that 3rd party amplifiers, in particular the Gilmore amps, sound better than Stax's own amps for driving the 009s, and for auditioning them, a Head-Fi meet is more likely to have such amps than a Stax dealer.

imo sometimes auditioning are a bit useless. becouse SR-009 'SQ is depend on variouse upstream gears. upstream gear change sound signature significantly.
my local shop's SR-009 sounded so awful. lol

Oh well, I guess I'll put this search in same category as trying to find a DNA Stratus to audition.

If there are no dealers close by, the next best thing would be at meets. First time I listened to it was at RMAF/CanJam 2017 @ HeadAmp's table, BHSE amp.
