Where do I buy through hole copper rivets in North America?

Something like these:

I see a number of European stores selling similar things, but nothing in North America. Basically, I need to make vias connecting top to bottom that are easy to add and not raised above the board surface (so I can have them under surface mount parts), and so pins/wires/resistor legs are not an option for me.
There's also the Copperset where you stick in the plated solder rod and break it off at scored locations, but Digikey lists it as discontinued, and I only would want refills anyway and not the whole expensive kit.

Closest thing I've seen...

Limited selection of sizes. Check DigiKey, Allied, etc. for stock, you might get lucky

If I were you I'd spring for a real double-sided thru-plated board. You can get a few built for less than $100.

well you could try contacting http://www.vpcinc.com/ listed on megauk.com distributer page and see if they will deal with you, and if they wont I should think you'd be able to convince megauk to deal directly with you, and it cannot possibly cost a fortune to send something so small and so light across the atlantic.

And I might mention I don't agree at all with pmillett on getting somone to make your prints for you - with a proper UV setup and rivets like these one can make a print in an hour or so, no service no matter how good will ever beat that.

What the hell does that mean? The boards I made are pretty real, as I can ascertain by feeling them in my hands!
I've previously ordered boards, but recently did my first set, and other than the via issue, I'm satisfied with the effort:quality ratio.

I realize that this is an older thread, but..

I wanted to say that I've developed a DIY method of easily making copper rivets, and an easy method of installing them.  I developed this when I needed to thermally connect a double sided 2 oz copper PCB with a A3987 stepper motor chip.  I find it works great for other vias too.
You can read the article here.
