Where can I get an iRiver h140?

You paid only $165? Wow, that's awesome! I had to pay $289.95 plus shipping which came out to $299 at MisticAudio. Maybe I should buy another at ebay if the price is right.

Sounded better how, was the signal flat in comparison or just cleaner? From my own tests with rmaa and confirmed by breez's tests the h100 series have flat headphone out, but the x5 and the 5th gen (haven't personally tested) both suffer from bass fall off (though minor). I have used the h100 series with shure 's e3's which have both low impedance and high sensitivity and this hiss is only bothersome when I wait for rockbox to finish loading or completely silent passages in song.

The h140 can be the ideal dap with or without an amp because of rockbox and I wholely doubt that hiss would be a deal breaker for a dap that has soo many unmatched features with rockbox. In the portable scene hiss should be the least of your worries; I am trying to block out the gabby lady on the cellphone on the train.

ROFL HISS LOL LOL LOL, rofl "portable" mirco stack reference system....lol. YES this text is in white my easter egg :P

Mister scrypt. I did not impose any stylistic taboos on Head-Fi. Dore's illustrations of Paradiso are engravings to Dante's Divine Comedy - hence my reference to Dante when you compared the H140 to Dore's engravings of seraphs. I have nothing against showing anyone's intellectual provess on any forum. If it is by means of using ornate style...Go ahead. But, there is no need to call someone who knows work of G. Dore and Dante as average breathless poser. Believe it or not, I've read Divine Comedy, in latin, as part of my education. I don't feel urge to prove my intellect or lack of it thereof. English is not my native language and my typing skills, sure, are not as good as I would like them to be. 6G iPod was supposed to be 60G iPod, and oh, no, balame instead of blame sent me among semi-illiterates - in your own words - please, scrypt, do not judge man's literacy on typo error.
I agree with Febs, the hiss on IEM's has been reported, my research wasn't thorough enough. I was wrong, take my apologies if I mislead fellow Head-Fi'ers.

Now, down to sewers I go, leaving court to the jester.

Post Scriptum: I believe that "Paradisio" should read "Paradiso" (possible typo error scrypt?)

I had to lose a few auctions to get them at that price, and it may have been as much as 170-75 w/ shipping--I don't remember exactly. I haven't priced them on e-bay in awhile, and they may be going up. Supply is bound to be running out since they are out of production.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong--Is Iriver still making new H100 series DAPs in Korea, or are we seeing the last of Iriver's worldwide stock being sold off by e-bay distributors? I have always assumed the later.

They're still making them in Korea. That's the stock we're seeing on eBay from the distributors selling new products at least. I got one and the packaging was in English so it's really no different as far as I can tell.

If they're still making them in Korea, could there be a Korean store that sells them internationally? It doesn't suprise me that if the packaging is in English. Most countries generally sell products with a least some English translation, especially if it's a popular item.

I'm not sure about a Korean store. I'm pretty sure Korea is where Mistic Audio gets theirs from. I would guess it means the available stock of iHP-140s isn't likely to run out as soon as if they were just NOS people were selling on eBay.

I had the impression that the H1xx on ebay were old new stock with the H120's coming from Korea and the H140's from Europe.
