They have a free demo version, but otherwise the only way to get it "free" is with a CD-RW drive that has it bundled with it.

... Keeping in mind that the "free" versions bundled with CD-RW drives are only compatible with the CD-RW drive it came with... Usually, anyway.

i bought a copy from like dirtcheapsoftware.com or something once for the cd key, cost me like $10. worth it since i have two different burners in my system and need nero occasionally for both of them.

Talk to your IT department, they may have a license for something. Regardless, never install software on school computers without their permission, even if for some reason you can that's just asking to have your account locked.

Some idiots managed to install gator on a few lab computers (less access control then most public computers) and it caused hell. They ended up reformatting them and hand installing all the lab software.

Kazaa but the latest version crashes all the time, so better look into other place, OTOH Roxio fixes all the bugs in the latest update, and EAC works good also, so decided, anyway kazaa is the way to go "cheapest"

to add, is there a reason you want to install illegal software on a school computer? The ramifications could be quite bad if someone reported it.
