whats the codes? the older cables use codes, the newer ones have a straight up date, tell me what the code says and ill tell you when they were made
EDIT: MY MISTAKE EVEN THE NEW CABLES HAVE THE CODE, BUT ITS ACCOMPANIED BY THE NAME OF THE EARPHONES SE530, UNLIKE THE OLD CABLES I BELIEVE. my code is 1658, meaning the 165th day of 2008

na, the cables are not guaranteed to break but you may well have the earlier cable compound which did react badly to some people's skin oils, causing stiffness and cracking, if your cables are stiff and holding your ear shape well then they may well be on the road to splitting, just dont start bending them the other way. the newer compound, going by my experience does not stiffen, mine have not yet and mine are 165th day of 08.

So that means it was made on the 88th day of 2008, right?
And it has the new cable?
yeh yours should be the newer cables. aslong as they are'nt going stiff they should be fine, people's cables only split when the cable has stiffened at the loop round the ears
