Silver is the orange/silver model. No idea how long the deal will be for, but I heard that it is until Christmas, then the price will go back up.

I am waiting for Sony to release a 32 GB player before I buy another one from them. With the DAPs I currently have, I can afford to wait (rather my wallet just can't afford anything else atm).

On a portable rig, I don't see any sense in having more than 16gb at a time. Just swap whenever you need a change.

I think I am already running out of space on the 16GB... SenseMe is getting a lot of uses and allowing me to discover more music than I normally would have...

***EDIT*** I received the player today, 12/10, day 16. Not sure what happened... only a criptic note in pen to the left of the shipping label "not 9240", which matches to nothing in the correct address on the package label. At any rate, YMMV. ******

Hey, I'm starting to get concerned after reading about how some of you got your S639 from advancedmp3players "quick".

I ordered mine on a Saturday, the 22nd of November. It shipped on that Monday the 24th. It is now 15 days later and nothing. They sent an email that Monday with a tracking number. I clicked on that link about a week ago, and it said that it can only be tracked as far as handoff to the USPS... it won't track after that.

Exactly how much time did it take you "quick" people to get your S639 after you got the email from them that it shipped? I am in LA. Even parcel post packages arrive from NY to LA in five working days.

I think mine showed up in about a week. It wasn't any longer than I typically wait for items that ship within the States.

Yes only Sony Europe will honor the warranty. Mine took 8 days from Advance.

Crap... I seem then to be the victim of Royal Mail like one other poster on the S639 thread... 15 days is far too long for there not to have been a problem.

If the tracking thing showed that the package was transferred for delivery to the US, then the USPS screwed up, not Royal Mail.

sony s739 is available for 99.99 pounds at amazon.co.uk cheaper than s639f. s639 retails for 119.9 pounds.
can somebody explain why is it so? as s739 got the brushed metal finish and noise cancelling ability.
so please tell me which one to get????
one more query, will above sony players be able to drive my grado sr80 efficiently??
