Where can I buy a worm gear assembly online? I've been building a painting easel, and I need a couple of affordable worm gear assemblies so that I can raise and lower the easel when I paint. Art supply stores love to sell expensive easels, but they don't sell parts. I should add that I've hunted around on ebay, and the majority of worm gears are for transmissions.

Look for surplus stores in your area.

Perhaps you could try www.grainger.com They are an industrial supply company featuring most everything mechanical or electrical.

This likely will not be a an inexpensive item to find.
