If one has already ripped CD's to FLAC, say 4 or 5 years ago using Exact Audio Copy, is there anything to gain by re-ripping them with the newest version of EAC, and more importantly, EAC using the latest FLAC converter from here:

https://xiph.org/flac/download.html

I searched but couldn't find much on what the advantages are of ripping with the latest FLAC version are in terms of sound quality versus older versions.

Basically, is it worth re-ripping or will I not notice a difference by re-ripping over FLAC from 4-5 years ago?

Maybe you just update the file metadata. Higher resolution album pic, copyright/publisher data, genre, year etc..
