I've been trying to track down my worst and found this:

6.4=Make Out
Gary Wilson
You Think You Really Know Me

mp3, 32kbps-mono

Sample rate = 22.05kHz

Free download on his website.

--Or--

Riders on the Storm(Fredwreck Remix)
Snoop Dogg feat. The Doors
NFS Underground 2 Exclusive

mp3 63kbps(vbr)-stereo

Sample Rate = 24kHz

Grabbed directly from the game disc. Was surprised this was possible. Wonder if all PS2 games are like this.

Post your worst quality music files.

I found some archival stuff online with century old music (we're talking from wax cylinders here). A lot of it was in 24 or 32 bitrate.

I've got a 32kbs file downloaded from Youtube. I pretty much never listen to it because it sounds so swashy.

For fun I also encoded a Flac at varying degrees of quality 32, 64, 128, 256, 320. Just to see how far I could go before I couldn't tell a difference between the FLAC. The difference became near impossible to hear after the 256 file.

256kbps MP3.
About 10 of them which I listen to daily. Not for their sound quality but for the music itself.

128 kbps recording of Minor Key Symphony by Cauterize. It's terribly recorded anyways, the 128kbps just makes it worse.

Following that I have the rest of my Cauterize collection ranging from 128 to 256 kbps, as well as a few Joel Plaskett recordings at 128kbps.

I have all of that on my iPod, but I can't listen to it on my actual rig as it's just too brutal. The same applies to Blink 182's Cheshire Cat album which was horrifically recorded even though I have it in 320kbps.

I'm hoping to get the Joel Plaskett DVD that has the songs I have in 128kbps on it, as well as Ashtray Rock. I love his stuff.

Wow. Thanks for reminding me about Cauterize. Haven't heard them since 1080, a snowboarding game on the Gamecube. Gonna go... LEGALLY get them now. <_<

For mine:

64 kbps MP3 rip of the full 2 minute track 'Windmill / Song of Storms' from Legend of Zelda: OoT. It would probably bother me if that wasn't right about the quality it is in game. Beyond that and a few other game rips, it's all 320-FLAC.

Yeah I really like them. Unique sound to an extent compared to other bands in that genre. The only problem is it is EXTREMELY hard to find their newer CDs anywhere, let alone the older ones. I had to download them all off iTunes and Amazon.

I have a 16 minute rendition of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue as a 96kbps file. I would have deleted it but it's a good performance and I don't know what album it's from.

Easy to say, almost everything by Django Reinhart, even on CD, the fact that it was recorded in the 30s/40s would explain everything: mono and nothing above 8000Hz, still the music is so fun.
