AUDIOTRAK's new DR.DAC3 is having a pre-order.
What's your opinion about this DAC?
I can't know this performance because there is no information.

Looks like exactly what I need: a good USB DAC, paired to a 0Ω headphone amplifier, a line-in, a line-out, and the ability to switch the output from the headphones to the line-out (to powered speakers).

Audiotrak made nice soundcards, such as the prodigy (which some guys modded with discrete opamps) and i suspect DIY'ers will spend good time with the DAC3 as well.

Hi. I have one. I also had a Dr Dac 2 previously. The amp on the 3 is more powerful but it cannot be swapped out. To my untrained ears, they both sound quite good with better opamps. I use opa627s.

If you like the 2, you will like the 3. If you have the 2, an upgrade to 3 is not necessary unless you need a stronger amp or 192 through usb.

It is still one of my favorite budget devices.
