I use Foobar. ASIO = audio stream input output, which is supposed to be... superior??? I'm not familiar with it, but I don't use it since 1) it takes more CPU and 2) the differences between lossless and mp3 192kbps are larger than with and without ASIO.
I use winamp with kernel streaming. Winamp is just more convenient to integrate into my personal computer setup than Foobar2k is. Kernel streaming because it (slightly) actually takes a bit less less CPU usage.
I use KS or ASIO, depending on what audio mode I'm in. When I just want to quickly sample music without switching out of game mode, I use KS. When I'm full blown listening in Audio Creation mode, I use ASIO (ASIO doesn't work in game mode).
To be honest, lately I've been just using KS. I can't actually tell a difference between ASIO and KS. I'll have to run some bit perfect tests with .wav DTS/DD tracks to see if my receiver reads them as the DTS/DD bit stream.
