Well I recieved my tomahawk today and am currious what gain setting everyone uses. I am using my ue-5c's untill my 11 pros arive tomorrow. It was set on high gain when I pulled it out of the package.

I use low for my E530 and high for my DT990, ER4s, and MS2i.

Since I use mine almost exclusively with IEM's, I have mine set to Low.

Chef: I had my TH set on "hi" because I used it with both IEMs, Beyer 990s and Beyer 880s. Try it with both hi and lo and see which you prefer I preferred "hi" for all applications. And with that battery life, doesn't seem to mak emuch difference in battery longevity

I also tried the high gain setting but found the sound with the added highs very unnatural.

chef: with all the diverse opinions, try the settings for yourself; one hour on hi, next hour on lo, etc. 'til you find which one you like. as I said prreviously, I used hi for everything. Use hi also as default on my Xin amps and Portaphile.

High on my ER-4p seems to clip. High on the ER-4S is great. High + ER-4S sounds better to me than Low + ER-4p. I also use the P/S adapter with my MS-2i and keep the gain setting on High.

Now we have some diversity of opinion.
