Baah, get a real computer: Commodore 64!

P.S. I used to code plenty of my own apps, sometimes using a machine language monitor and coding directly into RAM, "no assembly required." Had to be the most interesting and fun programming I've ever done.

Yep, I also bow down to the wonder that is Solaris. We use Solaris 8 and 9 and sparc-based SunFire and Netra systems, and it's rock solid.

It's kinda a crazy person child of BSD and System-V at the same time, but I like mutts

My old old old Dell CPi D266 is pure Vector Linux SOHO. Greatest Distro ever.

Windows XP. I've used various Linux distro's but still prefer Windows.

Windows 2000 - the most beautifully functional and stable OS MS every made (and that's no BS IMHO).

Win2k is so wonderful, Microsoft soon realised they'd never make another dime on upgraded operating systems if they didn't put it to pasture. And yet, with few exceptions it's still going strong.

my current favorite is kubuntu breezy. however, because of the lack of programs in it (read: photoshop/imageready and dreamweaver) i am forced to use windows xp 90% of the time. it's by no means a bad OS, i was actually pleasantly surprised by its stability coming from ME, but it's definetely not my favorite... i'm very interested in trying OS X though. in my (limited) time with it it seemed very nice.
