What's the one song that really made you appreciate your headphones?

For my Etymotic ER-6i: Chiodos' "Life Is A Perception of Your Own Reality"

And for my Ultimate Ears Super.fi 3: Brand New's "Jesus"

The one song that really made me appreciate my ER-4P's was "The Mind Of Love" by kd lang. The guitar strings are just totally eargasmic!

Lol I do, but recently it's been useless for good quality stuff anyways, now that its flac or bust

Im not fussed about FLAC really, as i cant hear an audible diffrence between 96k mp3 and 320k!

Im no audiophile, i just tailor how i like my music to sound with certain sounding headphones, and amps soon i think

honestly 320 and flac is a wash..with 192 coming in a somewhat close second

I, personally, however can hear a substantial difference in quality at the 160 level, and by 128 its starting to get noticeable, by 96 its pretty muddy and lets not even talk about 64 (which I only use when streaming news radio maybe)

Yes, it is... I'm lucky enough to have seen the LOTR concert at the Hollywood Bowl from the third row (one of the benefits of working for the LA Phil), although it wasn't Howard Shore conducting

. If I remember correctly, it was John Mauceri...

We saw/heard it in Denver, Colorado Symphony, but hey, wasn't half bad

And a nice little seat upgrade to Orchestra 2 was a pleasant surprise.

I'm still amazed HOW much better live Orchestral music is than recordings. Even on an Orpheous it sounded half as good as live. Headphones are great, but the live experience owns headphones every time IMHO

(of course, it's wallet crushingy expensive though, and you can't rewind it...)

So many good choices listed already, too many more to list. Depends on mood too. Right now it's Norah Jones, Don't Know Why.

Also:
Ben Folds; Narcolepsy (Ben Folds Live)
The White Stripes; Prickly Thorn, But Sweetly Worn
Radiohead; Faust Arp
The Beatles; Come Together
Simon and Garfunkel; Kathy's Song (Live-Greatest Hits)

SR-60s: "Mantaray" - Buckethead
RP-21s: "Numbers" - Smoke City
Proline 2500s: "Mr. PC" - Derek Trucks (Mind-blowing combination!)
