What's the one song that really made you appreciate your headphones?

"I woke up this mornin' and the sun was gone.
Turned on some Music to start my day, and lost myself in a familiar song.

I closed my eye and I slipped awaaaaay!!!!"

Boston - "More than a feeling"

I'm not one for lyrical content, but for some reason the lyrics of this tune sum up head-fi euphoria for me.

Basically, I use songs I know by heart, plus these three each bring something different to the table:

Space Oddity - David Bowie
Goodbye Pork Pie Hat - Charles Mingus
Silent Shout - The Knife

Jingo, original Santana recording. This thread gives me an idea for a new mix...time to go out and download some new tracks (have some listed, but not all of course). It will be eclectic, but very interesting.

Rachmaninov - Piano Concerto no.2

So damn melancholic, superb orchestra arrangement, I love this song.

Hey, thanks for all the great new music. Listening to the new mix now, via PK1s.

Here's another one for you: Chaiyya Chaiyya Bollywood Joint, from the Inside Man soundtrack. It's the opening song, and it's got a great trance-like world beat. Awesome for headphone listening.

Also, check out Pass the Hatchet, I Think I'm Goodkind, from Yo La Tengo.

Mostly I listen to acoustic and jazz. When I got my AKG K701s I went back and started listening to a lot of classical I hadn't heard in a long time. I really like Bach, just about anything, on the AKG K701s.

Just on shuffle in Winamp 5.5:

Massive Attack - Karmacoma came up. I think it would be a good song for testing bass. Goes very deep on my Labtec 2.1's sub. Even if i turn the sub off, the beat's bass is still noticeable, just not as deep.

RHCP-Snow is awesome, so is death of a martian. May be just be because i like them so much, so on different cans i like to hear how they sound?!

I really enjoy listening to Bjork with headphones. Her voice is beautiful especially on her album Vespertine.
