My main headphone at home is a Beyerdynamic DT 880, and I'm looking for a nice closed can for work. Which closed headphones would be more or less similar in signature to it? What about the following: Beyer DT 250 (-80 and -250), Beyer DT 660, AKG 271?

(I plan to run whichever can out of a Porta Corda, so impedance/power requirements aren't a decisive factor...)

K271 without a doubt--much more similar to the DT880s tonal character than the other closed phones in their price range that I've tried (A900, CD1700, DT250-80, HFI-650 Trackmaster). First thing I thought when I got my DT880s was that they reminded me a lot of the K271s only with a slightly more airy sound and better extension on the highs and lows.

Hmm, it looks from the various things I'm reading on old threads, that the choice for me may lie between AKG K271 and Beyer DT250-250 (which are said to be more extended than the 80 ohm version).

The general impression I get from reading threads: the AKG has better mids, but the Beyer is more balanced. Which to me sounds like I'd prefer the Beyer.

Anybody capable of confirming/denying?
