I don't know from personal experience, but I heard that the difference between the DT770 and the DT770 Pro is the fit. You should email Jan (Meier).

HUGE difference in impendence as well. the non pros like the beyer DT770's are like 250ohms, the pros are 80ohms. or is it only with that model...

If Headroom's page for the 770 Pro is any indicator, I have reason to believe that impedence has no bearing on the Pro/Non Pro designation.

http://www.headphone.com/products/he...dt-770-pro.php

Under the specs you can see, that the DT770's are listed as the Pro Model however have an impedence of 250 ohms.

To further clarify, both the 990 and 990 Pro are 250ohms. It's been discussed before, their specs and their sound are identical aside from a possible difference due to clamping pressure, despite some differences in marketing between the two.

Don't the non pro's have less clamping force too? Also, I remember reading somewhere that they had longer extension from the headband to the cup.

I have both models. The pros have the cord routed only to the left ear, and the consumer version is split like most (but not all) consumer headphones. Both my pairs are 600 ohm. My understanding is the 990s were available in both high and low impedance versions for consumers and for pro applications.

Since my phones are more than five years old, this may have changed, but the difference to my recollection is the cord orientation.

The DT 990 Pro's are my favourite headphones.

Both differences have already been mentioned. Your avatar made me do a double take, I thought redshifter had joined in on this...

This has changed, the old 600 ohm 990 is no longer in production (though theyre bringing a new one out soon) and both models have single entry cords.
