well to be fair, I have not hear mogwai on vinyl, but I imagine cd might be better for them since they go from soft to loud so dramatically. Tortoise is heaven on vinyl...all the thrill jockey stuff is very well recorded and printed on hefty vinyl. Plus, if you order it from them, it is only 10 bucks for a double LP and they include posters and stuff. Nick Drake's stuff has been put out on classic vinyl, so it has amazing fidelity and is dead quiet, but they charge more for it...20-30 bucks. It is worth it if you like Nick Drake though...the sound quality is just awesome.
