whats the best amp for the k701

hi,

I have recently bought the k701 and I'm using it with the aqua head amp, I want to know if theres a better amp for them, what is your recommendation, should I upgrade?
would love to hear about all the amps people know are a good match for the k701

What's your source, budget, do you need a portable or a home amp, etc..

If you want to go tube - the Darkvoice synergizes very nicely with the K701s. I still sometimes regret selling it off. As far as solid state - my little Shanling PH100 drives them surprisingly well. Full Class A topology, plenty of juice, brings out the bass.

I used a 701 with my (now sold) DV336i. It was a decent combo...however it lacked some detail and at time was alittle bass shy.

I'm also curious in the best amp for K701s, but I have a bigger budget (~$1000). I purchased a SP extreme (didn't receive it yet) with the option to return it if I don't like it. Also, I'm considering a WA6 SE and a WA4. The WA4 doesn't seem to get much love on these forums, though. Any recommendations would be much appreciated. My source is a cambridge 840c

I wish i had my 701s to test with the WA6 SE i have sitting on my desk right now.

I dunno anyone around me with the 701s too, even though there are like 5-6 head-fiers in a 30 mile area.
