whats the 3'th wire from a lith-poly battery for?

what do i have to do with that wire

i'm planning making a external battery for my zvm

my first plan was replacing my old batter with that one but that didnt work out....

Third wire is usually a temperature sensor for safety during charging and to help with charge control.
