1996 Saturn SL2 Manual.
38-42 MPG highway depending on my speed.
About 35 City (I coast a lot).

1998 Honda Civic, stickshift

In NJ, I average ~37 MPG
In VA, I average ~27 MPG (thank you, Blacksburg, for being the most inefficient town in the recorded history of mankind... I can barely go 200 yards at a time before stopping, thanks to your traffic lights, which are worse than NJ's somehow)
My record: 42.6 MPG (on the highway)

All from a car that cost $3700. I love seeing all those idiots driving the new Toyota Prius... they'd have to spend like a century in their car to get the benefit over my old POS Civic.

Ill list the cars in the family, overall mpg.

'07 Mazdaspeed 6 (manual) - 23-24mpg, not great for a 2.3 4-cyl, but half of that is driving style

'06 RAV4 V6 (automatic) - 23mpg
'96 Audi A4 2.8 V6 (manual) - 26mpg

My car wins, or it will when I'm done fixing it.

Previous cars owned in the last few years

'06 Nissan Murano (CVT) - 20mpg
'06 VW GLI (DSG) - 29mpg

My family goes through cars - well my dad does anyways.

I just recently had my 1998 Honda Civic HX CVT coupe serviced and I got 39 mpg on mostly freeway driving currently, thanks to a new timing belt and new spark plugs.
