I've been using an audiophile USB with Cambridge Soundworks DTTD 5.1 speakers and A900s. Its worked without a problem until recently when I switched from winamp to foobar. I always have the A900s plugged into the card's headphone out, and the receiver/speakers connected through the S/PDIF out.
Sometimes when starting a track in foobar (either by skipping, double clicking, or pushin play ect..), I get a very loud "POP!" sound through my speakers. It doesn't happen all the time, and seems pretty erratic. When it does happen, it tends to keep happening until I shut off the speakers. The really odd thing is that it can happpen even if I'm using headphones and have selected analog output in the Audiophile USB control panel and/or the waveout options in foobar. This, of course, only happens if the speakers are turned on.
Here's my current foobar setup:
A900s:
-24bit-padded to 32bit
-no dithering
-Equilizer
-SSRC resampler at 88.2kHz
-crossfeed
-advanced limiter
-waveout with 1000ms buffer
speakers:
-16bit
-strong ATH dithering
-Equilizer
-SSRC resampler at 44.1kHz - 64kHz (I change it sometimes)
-crossfeed (I was using it yesterday, but not any more)
-advanced limiter
-waveout with 1000ms buffer
I also use the "winamp API emulator" plugin for semi-compatibility with geekamp for litestep.
Anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
