My set up is

5.5 imod > Imod jumbo cryo dock > Iqube amp > Er-4s

I burn in the imod jumbo cryo dock about 180 hours.

I can't feel any different between imod line out and headphone out .

Why?

Perhaps
Is this cable not imod Jumbo cryo dock cable to Jumbo cryo dock cable ?

I am in utter confusion .

A couple of things I might note. The iMod is typically associated with better imaging in the sound stage, much better detailed bass then the headphone out (for certain), and some extra clarity in seperation.

Make sure:
Blackgate capacitors in the dock are burned in (150 hours)
iQube is burned in (? hours)
Good source files (128kbps mp3 is likely not going to cut it, try 256 or higher at least)

Also, some things like the better bass might be harder to notice with the treble focused Etymotic ER series and you have a more compressed soundstage using IEM. You should still notice better clarity and some more specific imaging using them I would think. Give it some time and take some notes if you have to. I would be interested in knowing if you don't actually notice an improvement.

What type of music are you listening to? If I missed anything in the picture, its because I can't see it at work where the host site is being blocked.

P.S. I remember your first post in the Post your Transportable/Portable rig thread in the ALO forum. All it said was "imod", quote. I remember this because it was so odd.

See if you can convert some of your CDs to ALAC. Apple Lossless - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

However, WAV is lossless as well, you should be fine

(Hey Ken, Whats better then lossless? I'm intrigued!

Better than lossless? It's when you cram the actual band into that little bitty box and have them just play. *shrugs* Sounded good at the time.
