What's better Sony MDR-CD380 or Koss R80 ?

Ok, opinions please.

What is better overall (sound,comfort) etc.. although more importantly sound

Sony MDR-CD380

or

Koss R80


I can get one of these pairs for the exact same price what would you recommend out of these two ?

Hmm, this is a tough one. I don't think I've heard either of those mentioned more than once around here. Are you willing to let us suggest something else that you might like better?

Unfortunately, Mr.T, neither of the headphones that you mentioned at the beginning of this thread are good performers for the price that you'll be paying for. There are many other headphones in that price point that sound better than either of those that you mentioned.

Since Mr.T failed to mention a price, I will assume that he will be paying between $40 and $50 for those headphones (for the Sonys, the lowest price found on the Web; for the Kosses, the typical retail selling price).

I'd go with neither.

The 380 (which I own and now use with my PC) is too bright and VERY tinny, and the R 80 has good bass, but is even brighter. I'd say, get the Sennheiser HD 280; these 'phones are definitely above both the 380 and the R 80!!!!
