I have to make a huge back-up to DVD discs, so I wanted to make an archive that spans the discs with a 25% recovery file. How do I do this(I'd like to stick to using free software)?

Also, if I decide not to go that route, is there software that can break up files in a directory into X size chunks(4GB in my case)? That would be a lot easier than doing it manually.

I use QuickPAR and WinRAR when i download from newsgroups, i am sure they can be used and are free as well.

Okay, thanks to both of you. That Slick's guide made it much easier to figure out. I figuured to use both those proggies but wasn't too sure how to go about setting them up.
