i love having a small... really small rig.

4 gigs clipped on my t shirt = awesome.

currently i use a sansa clips,

as i buy better iems im starting to want a better source

is there a source that has much better sq that is still pretty small?

or do i have to have a 'smart phone' sized device now?

or a nice small stand alone eq i can use with my clips?

i prefer equipment that has been around a while and has a solid reputation, over the latest and greatest that may have issues no one has discovered yet.

or i could add a tiny amp i suppose? < which one??

I use a Fiio E6 with my Sansa Clip+, I'm really surprised by Fiio and how they can make relatively good sounding amps for a reasonable price. I enjoy the volume/sound quality gain this gives me from the Sansa Clip+ while retaining the small portable size. This is a really good next step in the Fiio En line, it definitely surpasses the E5 in sound quality and usage.
