$40-$50-ish with no battery walwart, nothingggg. Not much of a portable since no antiskip or anything and even with the battery it doesn't last long (assumign ur willing to shell out the $30-$50 for the battery alone), but a great player. I keep it on my desk running on a radio shack walwart, pretty convienient still. I could take it to the library where there are plugs on the cubicles and it's much easier to move this around than a CD player deck when moving in and out for college.

If you need sumtin more portable I'd recommend a panasonic ct470 or ct570. both discontinued but if you look around hard enough in small stores or online you could prolly find one for around $40-$80.

Cheap? Easy to find? A D-33. A lot of people like its sound more than the D-25S. It may not look as cool... and if you're okay with no skip protection...I like it though. You can search around for opinions on those players maybe. I think there is a D-33 on ebay.com and a couple on ebay.co.uk now.

Seriously, a lot of these go for dirt cheap on ebay quite frequently.

Which one will go good with a pair of d66 eggos, and maybe later on some grado 225's? and id be able to find an AC adapter at radio shack right?

Yes. I don't believe the siliconsavage d-25s auctions include the AC adapter (or most D-33 auctions), and you don't want to pay the absurd 40 somewhat dollars that partsolver.com charges, so just pick one up from radioshack. My D-33 adapter (original) is 9V, 600mA. Not sure what the d-25s uses.

I've been meaning to buy one from radioshack, namely this one, but it's out of stock now. =/ It's 800mA and can switch between 3, 4.5, 6, 9 and 12V so it's ideal for portables.

Silicon Salvage DON'T include the PS.
The D25s uses also 9V, 500mA. But the plug is different :/ .

For strict home use, why not go for a full size player ? Older ones go for cheap (50 or less) on ebay.

If you really want a pcdp, have a look at the D-33 or to the D-141. The D141 is less powerful but the sound is quite similar. Better than the D25s for me. Both could be found for less than 10 bucks.

D-25S - $52* - Silicon Salvage
Wallwart - $17* - Radio Shack
Adaptaplug "M" - $0 - Radio Shack (free with wallwart)

*after shipping and/or taxes

Both the d33 and the d141 have line outs, right? I was kind of looking for a replacement for my old Fisher PCDP, and those deals on ebay looked good.

The headphone out (with megabass on) has a lot of bass power, some people hate it, i personally don't care for it. It appears to muddy the midrange too much. Without the megabass on it sounds pretty neutral, quite good for any headphone (especially bright headphones like Grado's), its also very powerful, meaning don't be surprised if you keep the volume at '1' or '2' or even at MIN. As for the line out, its great, very powerful and clean, i like the line out on the D33 more than any other pcdp i currently own. Go with a D33 if you can get one cheap, it runs on 4 AA, but it sucks them dry within 4-5 hrs, so get a wall wart to power it.

The D141 has a line out and it sounds pretty fine to my ears, plus its quite light and takes 2 AA's, my guess is battery life is probably 10-15 hrs. The headphone out is pretty strong too and the megabass doesn't suffer from the same bloated bass the D33 has, its more subdued for bass headphones like the V6's. I paid only a few bucks for a D33 on ebay from what i recall, so i got it dirt cheap and it works wonderfully. Hope that helps
