Hello everyone

I'm looking for a gift for my brother. He said he doesn't care for anything like mp3s, ATRAC, etc. Just wants one for redbook CD. He's an amatuer musician so he's getting into SQ. He's young (16) so it has to look somewhat cool. I know he rides the subway a lot so I think battery life is important. And lastly, I'm looking for something under $75. Any suggestions?

Sam Tellig in the December issue of Stereophile speaks highly of the Sony D-EJ100 which is $49.99 at most places. He says it compares favorably to the vaunted Optimus CD3400.

Yeah, I was looking into the Sony D-EJ100.
How do the Sony D-EJ109 or D-EJ360 compare?
What about any of the Panasonics?

I personally have a Panasonic SL-CT470 and love it, but I'm wondering if getting him one of the 470s is enough for him or would he want more features.
