O.k. here is my situation.

I use my computer as my source. I have a soundblaster live card with a frontpanel s/pdif out jack.
I currently am connecting my cans directly to the soundcard.

I am looking to get a new DAC, AMP, and/or Soundcard and am wondering the best thing/s to buy.
I just bought a pair of DT 880's and want to get the most out of them.

My budget is fairly small, about $200 us.
I am not concerned with portibility.
Would it be best to get a DAC then a small amp on the other side? Or would it be best to get a DAC/amp combo like the total bithead? Or upgrade the soundcard?

Any help would be great

well an amp would help your situation, but a good amp will be limited by your sub-par sound card. So you have 2 choices. upgrade the card or use the digital out to an external DAC.

I would personally prefer to have separate amp and DAC that way you could upgrade one at a time.

really, it would depend a bit on what your use is and what cans you have.

You could get or build a PIMETA or PINT for $100 or less and get a DIY USB DAC for less than $100 as well
