Reminds me of the story where a man had a fate, a calling in life - it was to accomplish a certain something in his life. And once it was accomplished he died; like within a day.

"kids, a wife or any of that nonsense"? I guess that stuff is for mere mortals.

That's the way you feel now. But years from now you may come to regret it. This thread will be long forgotten by then.

Biggie,

Two is no biggie.

Stephonovich,

You may as well have your tomb stone engraved with "No Regrets" right now:

There was a man
with a tombstone that read
"No Regrets"
"Not now, not ever".

He just wished
he could haved been
around a little longer.

The list would be almost endless if I were to really start listing them. I don't buy for a second the general (West or East) idea of enlightenment/higher motives, etc. To borrow from Heidegger one of the key elements of being is that we are forward beings. Aspect of this is that we live as much in the moment as what we will be. An aspect of being is that it is impossible to be at peace either with death or change/desire. By our very natures will we will be craving, lusting, regretting until the point that your light goes out.

Death is a recycling program. I another way to think about it, the STOP button that turns off all the chatter in your head.

Current regrets
-not being able to speak another language fluently. Have tried but has not stuck.

-a whole list of hedonistic stuff one which has already been listed.

-only been to Germany would like to see a lot more countries at least one or two per continent.

-a fight I got into the biggest guy on the football team in high school. I talked my way out of a conflict but now, I would have just have knocked some of his teeth out and let the chips fall.

-selling my first motorcycle for the honeymoon for my first marriage. Oh boy was that a bad decision. Man the bike would been much better.
