I'm thinking of maybe buying that in the future as home amp for my hp. If I would connect it with my speaker setup and use it as a preamp as well what would be the advantage or would that solely depend on how it pairs with my poweramp?

Using my RPX-33 as a pre-amp as well, it`s excellent.

The main advantage should be the Dualmono design, esp. if you use Mono power-amps (like I do, using two tube monos).

Disadvantage: Not everybody has enough with only one RCA-input.
I`m using only a CDP, so I`m fine with that.
Comfort could be better, sometimes I miss a remote control.
Then again: The volume knob is excellent and really beautiful.
Optik&Haptic 1a!

Headphone-amps make for great pre-amps, one could say so in general.

One RCA input is quite limited indeed. My current poweramp has two digital inputs and a bunch of analog ones which is really nice coz we use them all. So I think when I buy it I will just be using it with my hps and leave it out of the stereo setup.
The poweramp needs to get some attention soon because it distorts like hell, so might have to replace that one in the (near) future...we'll see...
Thanx for the info though
