I have a friend whos looking to sell his x1000 because he uses his iphone 4 and hasnt touched his x1000 in months.  Its mint, with no marks and has a screen protector.  How much do you think he should ask for it?  Are these still $400USD/$500CDN new?

I have been checking up on them on ebay for the past month and the 16gb have gone for $200 to $250 and the 32gb have gone for $250 to $280. Is the one your friend selling a 32gb? I've been looking for a 32gb so let me know.

Wow how did you guys sell yours?  Ive tried locally but its a waste of time cause the x1000 is something youd have to sell on to audiophille community.  The general user wont even know What it is, all they know is ipod.  Im looking to get $200 at least.

In my case, I lucked out as someone on eBay found my post for my X and bought it literally 5 minutes after I posted.  Apparently he's a HUGE Sony fan, and collects Sony's MP3 players - he has 5 16GB X's, and (now) 4 32GB X's.  But you're right - unless someone truly appreciates the X, you won't find much interest in the player (their loss though!)
