Sony CD-180's. $20 at Wally World. A galaxy of difference between those and stock cans. However, after a rabbit chewed through the cord, and then I lost them at camp (after a duct tape repair job), I stopped caring, until, that is, I got my oh-so-lovely HD 280's...
i got kenwood kpm-610s back in like jr high i think. still sound pretty good to me but they're hella uncomfortable after a while cause they sit on your ear. i forgot the technical name for that.
I believe for me it was the Sony MDR-238ML on my dej615 they sounded perfect.. although I wasn't use to the cleaning-the-ears-out-all-the-time routine cause they stuck inside my ear a bit
and they sounded really punchy on my sharp mt877, not much in the way of clarity, then again they're sony earphones. I believe they broke a long while ago....
after quite some time with it, i thought the bass was too boomy and the highs too fatiguing with my crappy source. sold it for short change a month later and was happier with my e838 stock phones. crap in = crap out.
that was before i knew head-fi and got to own better units. never knew those were a collector's gem.
Sennheiser HD280's....I really like them, many people bag on them in comparisons (seems like for the price range everyone goes nuts for Eggo's and PortaPro's/KSC-35's) but I think I will stick with them....did I make a bad purchase for my first pair?
i can't remember.. they were some koss's... they were kinda square adn had a blue koss sign on the side.. i got them in the early to mid 90's so i was like 13 years old then... but then i lost them... i think they were like 20 or 30 dollars.
